The Journey of the Soul

Every experience that you have had is directly related to your Soul's purpose.
Your Soul's purpose is why you're here on this earth at this time. Your purpose is what drives you and moves you forward. When you identify your Soul's purpose your life finds it's meaning.

Your Soul has its own ancient, deep, wordless wisdom – and it doesn’t conform to what your mind wants or desires. It honors the path of your Higher Self. Our Soul is the center of who we are: it is the illuminated essence, the unique spark of Divinity we all carry.

Your ‘Soul purpose’ can be thought of as
the reason why you are here in this life experience. Soul purpose can also be called “destiny.”
When we experience Soul Loss we begin experiencing feelings of weakness, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and emptiness. We just know that something is missing from our lives, but many of us struggle to discover what exactly that is.

Many struggle to connect with their Soul's purpose because they aren't connect to their Soul to begin with.

We can lose touch with our Soul due to trauma, childhood conditioning, abuse, inherited toxic beliefs, self-neglect, self-hatred and a lack of understanding of the Soul.

The Soul requires connection with others and a connection to that which is Divine. The human being has been conditioned with mechanical and material focuses that create a disconnect from that which the Soul values and requires. The media’s portrayal of success, and the societal and educational pressures to conform to “approved” paths all make awakening to our true purpose challenging.

To deliver your gift to the world you must understand the purpose for which your Soul is here. Studies have found that people who live in alignment with their purpose live an average of 7 years longer and are more content and satisfied. Finding your purpose is extremely beneficial.

How to truly connect with and discover your purpose

Many people are living a purpose that has been constructed by society, culture or conditioned thinking. They are living a default purpose.

Because purpose-seeking isn’t at the forefront of our modern society’s educational system, many end up living a default purpose only to find out years later that it was never their purpose to begin with. I chose to be a Secretary when I was 16 years old because it's what my mother did. I quickly discovered that I absolutely hated working in an office! It was completely out of alignment with my Soul's purpose.

Life has a three-fold purpose that requires one to Awaken, Grow up and Show up.

Awakening begins to answer the question, "Outside of others' expectations, what is my true nature? Who am I really?" Awakening is traditionally associated with the enlightenment of the Buddha, being born again associated with Christianity and the experience of the essence or Mystery of us that is at the center of who we really are.

Growing up is the path of becoming "emotional adults" who continually question, inquire and answer the question: How can I be happier as a human being and create a life that is full of wonder and peaceful?

You have to give yourself permission to give and receive love and create joy in your life.

Showing up answers the question "What is the vision, execution and path of delivery of my purpose... what is the gift within me that I may give freely to others and how do I deliver that?

Too often, people try to start to show up without ever diving deep enough into the center of their own being to discover who they really are. This leads to living a life of defaulted purpose, that they eventually discover is unfulfilling and doesn't hold true meaning and value.

When we wake up, grow up, and show up, we can wake up every day and answer the question: “Am I showing up with my life’s purpose as a gift to the people whom I’m meant to serve?”

Your purpose is not somewhere 'out there'. We have to awaken to and discover our purpose from within ourselves.
You can begin to discover your purpose by getting outside of the routines and boundaries that you have set up for your life. Start by being okay with being uncomfortable as you let your inner passions flourish so you can begin to allow your true self to emerge.

Secondly, spend time every day contemplating this critical question: "What is my purpose?" Take the time to get out in nature. Try new things and explore the world around you. Become comfortable with not being able to understand everything with your human understanding. Set time aside for contemplation and reflection every day and spend time outside of your conventional life.

Thirdly, find interesting and thought-provoking people outside of your 'circle'. Have conversations with people and read books by authors who have refused to live a defaulted purpose. Seek out new ways of thinking about the world. If you want different you have to walk a different path.

And fourthly, seek expert guidance. When you are treading into unknown territory it is helpful to have a guide who has already traversed much of that territory. There is no substitute for mentorship. An expert can guide you through the process of finding your purpose because they have asked the same questions of themselves that you are asking of yourself, and have found the answers.
