Unhealed childhood emotional and physical traumas become adulthood dysfunction, disorders and disconnects.

Our perception of love is based on what we were taught through what we saw when we were children. Our understanding of love and relationships through our childhood eyes is how we tend to show up in our relationships as adults.

We are not taught HOW to do relationships. We are shown.

If you didn't see good parenting as a child you can find it challenging to parent today's generation of children.  The way they see and understand life is different.

Your parenting style


​Your beliefs, ideas, feelings, ideals, and concepts about parenting are a result of how you were parented. 

What you think about relationships came in as a result of what you experienced in, and through, your relationships as a child.

If your childhood experience with your parents was one of strict discipline, physical abuse, and lack of love it can be difficult to cultivate a loving, harmonious and understanding relationship with your own children.

If you experienced rejection, disappointment, criticism or judgement as a child, you may find it difficult to accept your own children for who they are and appreciate that their feelings are valid and should be respected and honored.

Transforming your external relationships begins within


​Every relationship you have with others is an extension of you. If you have unhealed trauma from childhood relationships, the residue (i.e. affects of the trauma) will show up in how you parent your own children.

For example, if your childhood relationship with your mother was fractured you may find it difficult to tap into the nurturing aspect of yourself and come across as being hardened or closed off.

If your father was controlling or absent this too can affect your relationship with your own children.

Children need to feel that they are loved by their mothers and protected by their fathers.

If a child doesn't feel protected by their father they struggle with feeling safe and secure... emotionally, physically, spiritually. They will struggle with insecurity and feeling exposed.

If a child doesn't feel loved by their mother they will struggle with self-love, self-value and self-acceptance.
