God is Spirit, You are Spirit, Love is Spirit
On a soul level, we all play a role. On a soul level, we are all here as individual souls to play out, and work through the evolution of our own individual soul. For some reason we have chosen the "earth classroom" in which to play it out. Still seeking clarity on why we as souls chose earth to learn specific lessons and what the lessons are on other dimensions of existence, but that's a whole nudder deep. lol
There is a passage of scripture that says in 1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
What this says to me is that, in the flesh, in the egoic nature of the fleshly man, there are many things that will never be understood from a spiritual perspective. In order to understand the things of the spirit, one needs to discern from a place of the spirit. When we judge, assess and condemn in our flesh, we are in no wise representing the Spirit of God… for in our flesh we cannot operate in the fruit of the Spirit. (Gal 5:22-25)
The next time you profess that you represent God, ask yourself this... "Do I represent the love of God? Do my actions represent the love of God? Does my communication represent the love of God? And if it doesn't, then I encourage you to realign yourself with the true essence of the Spirit of God....LOVE.
“If a man says, "I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” 1 John 4:20
God has created every human being in His image, EVERY HUMAN BEING, which means that we are created to love. We are created to need love and we are created to give love. Most people do not know what love is. As people become more “world focused”, and choose to see only through the eyes of flesh and not God, they seem to develop a distorted view about what love is.
The Bible tells us that “God is Love”, and the Bible also says that God is Spirit, that means true Love is a Spirit, the Holy Spirit. But of course there are counterfeit forms of what people call love. 1 Corinthians 13 tell us what REAL/TRUE/GOD love is.
The fruits of the Holy Spirit describe true Love. (Galatians 5:22-25) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” The first fruit of the Spirit is Love and all of the other fruits are characteristics of Love.
Love is more than a feeling, it is more than an experience; it is the manifested presence of God, the glory of God. Remember God is Love, so when you experience true Love you are experiencing God’s glorious presence. Notice the second fruit is joy. Love is the ultimate joy that can be experienced.
The third fruit listed is peace. Just as fear is a spirit, so also Love is a Spirit of power and peace. (2 Timothy 1:7) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (Ephesians 6:23) “Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 13:11) “Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”
The other six fruits of the Spirit all have to do with actions of Love and the power of Love. All of the fruits of the Spirit are the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, which is the manifestation of God’s love in our own life.
Moses asked God to show him His glory. When God revealed His glory to Moses He also revealed His character, His Love. (Exodus 33:18-19) “And he said, ‘Please, show me Your glory’. Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion’.” (Exodus 34:6) “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth’” The word merciful in verse 6 means, “to be full of compassion”. We know that God is Love and that He is full of compassion. This revelation of who God is also reveals who Love is, and what the glory of God is. The glory of God is the manifestation and revelation of His Love to man.
The Bible is very clear that we are to love God more than our own life and to love people as we love our selves. (Matthew 22:37-40) “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets’.” Love is the summary of all that God wants from us, and all that God wants us to be. Christ’s teaching showed God’s communication to man to tell us about the God who is Love, and what Love is and is not.
So when we judge, condemn, back bite, gossip about and malign the character of others, we do not represent the love of God. Every man/woman has the right to live out their OWN soul’s journey, and work out their own salvation. Every relationship with God is a personal one, and when we make judgments about who someone is or is not in their relationship with God, because of what we perceive in our flesh, in the eyes of our flesh, we do not show forth the love that God is. If God is love, period, and what you do and say does not represent LOVE, then you do not represent God. If you talk about me, gossip about me, say hateful things and hurtful things about me… YOU DO NOT LOVE ME… You do not represent the Love of God. (Even if you call yourself a Christian!)
Walk according to the spirit that you may not yield to the works of the flesh. When most people hear this, especially church folk, their interpretation is fornication, adultery, homosexuality – their thoughts lean more to a sexual thing. But allow me to submit to you today that these acts – gossip, lying, condemnation, hatred, scorn, filthy communication – are also works of the flesh.
BE the love of God, BE the power of God, learn to love (as God) your neighbor, and do unto others as you would want others to do unto you.
If you don’t have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut. Don’t be a hypocrite…
BE Love, BE Power!
I am a lover of life and a lover of people. When we learn to connect in our heart space, love will be the driving force behind all we do. BE Love, BE Power!
